Medical City Dallas is where Jim received his treatment for Leukemia and Bone Marrow Transplant. We want to give back to the team that saved my life. We have become Mentors in the PACE program.
The Patient and Caregiver Empowerment (PACE) Program at Medical City Dallas is a volunteer program where survivors will be matched with patients and families based on similar diagnosis to provide emotional support, awareness of resources and an empathetic ear. Commitment to running the race alongside patients is at least 6 months.

Leukemia Texas was involved in providing us support and encouragement during our fight. To give back to the organization that helped us, we volunteer with Leukemia Texas in various capacities at many of their events.
Leukemia Texas is an independent nonprofit corporation dedicated to fighting the life-threatening blood cancer of leukemia through the funding of leukemia research and patient aid in Texas.

I attended a Reel Recovery Retreat in Navasota Texas in November 2018. This retreat had such an impact on me that I now volunteer to help spread awareness of the retreats to others.
The mission of Reel Recovery is to help men in the cancer recovery process by introducing them to the healing powers of the sport of fly-fishing, while providing a safe, supportive environment to explore their personal experiences of cancer with others who share their stories.

Encouraging others Fighters and Caregivers is deep in our hearts. Others encouraging our family during the fight was monumental. In June of 2018 we have became Mentors for the SupportLine with The Bone Marrow Foundation.
SupportLine is a free service designed to link patients who may be considering or actually undergoing bone marrrow/stem cell transplantation and/or their family members and caregivers with post-transplant patients and their family members and caregivers. The goal is to provide direct telephone or on-line support and encouragement during the transplant experience from the unique perspective of someone who has experienced it.
